WHAT IS HYROX?

HYROX is a global fitness race that combines endurance and functional strength into one standardized competition. Athletes complete 8 × 1km run, each followed by a functional workout station. Ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer’s carries, sandbag lunges, and wall balls.

The format is the same worldwide, which makes it accessible for first time competitors and beginners, while still making it challenging for experienced athletes.

Unlike traditional races or group fitness events, HYROX tests both engine and strength under fatigue. The most successful athletes train under pressure with pacing, durability and efficient transitions between running and functional stations. It’s not just about being strong or having endurance, it’s about combining it all in a structured, measurable and repeatable way.

HYROX is truly for anybody who wants to push themselves and get out of their comfort zone. And, luckily for all who wish to do so, HYROX is continuously expanding in 2026 with over 600,000 athletes world wide competing alongside one another.
